One Brief SCENARIO of Myanmar Future

What is the future of Yangon?

I met someone who is young and active to start something as business in Yangon and he assume all the changes as positive challenges to opportunities. Even he has that ideas, in reality, most of the business people are facing a lot of problems to be stabled and to be growth. One of the problems is very expensive land price not only to buy but also to rent in Yangon, and the increase of land price is the fastest and biggest amount in South East Asia, which is one of the challenges for those who willing to start a business for not just local people also Foreign Direct Investment organization.

Otherwise, Some people see this as opportunity for local people. Recently, all the land are owned by local people so that at least people
can have money from this, by renting them rather than selling them. It is because the Land prices are expensive once they sell it, they won't afford to buy it again. That's why, the land owner should ask for loan from Banks to have structure on his or her land to use such as office building and get rental fees to have benefit from it. That's why, some people see this as opportunity.

What is going on there?

These are the downtown of Yangon City and one look of inside of City Hall during my visited in last week for teaching. As you know, the country is opening and moving forward to catch up with the world. On the other hand, there is lack of infrastructure and human capacity in the nation. What are you thinking what is going to happen to the biggest city of Myanmar, Yangon, was a capacity city of Myanmar, where now is holding EIGHT millions people. Some people say this "The Valuable Historical buildings of Yangon will be ruined if there will be no planning of City structures" because huge amount of investment from inside and other foreign countries are waiting to replace with their modern building in the valuable historical building. Then, It would be very ugly if you see many tall and modern buildings between historical building. That's why, the attraction of beauty of Yangon will be lost for tourism industry.

The next thing is that the city is holding EIGHT millions people with very few and bad transportation systems and utilities system. Can you imagine the heart of Yangon is full of tall sky buildings? Can you think of how hard will be happened for traveling in Yangon? Can you notice million of problems concern with utilities system will be happened ? I really feel bad for my hometown city.

I guess Yangon needs urgent helps to survive for long time.

THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE

The Taukkyan War Cemetery is a memorial to Allied soldiers from the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during the Second World War.
The cemetery contains the graves of 6,374 soldiers who died in the Second World War, the graves of 52 soldiers who died in Burma during the First World War, and memorial pillars (The Rangoon Memorial) with the names of over 27,000 Commonwealth soldiers who died in Burma during the Second World War but who have no known grave. There are 867 graves that contain the remains of unidentified soldiers.
History
The cemetery was opened in 1951 and the remains of Commonwealth soldiers who died in Meiktila, Akyab (Sittwe), Mandalay, and Sahmaw were transferred here and the graves are grouped together by these battles. A large number of the 27,000 names of Commonwealth soldiers are of the many Indian Army and African soldiers who fought and died in Burma. Of the total, 1,819 graves, an unusually high number, are those of Indian soldiers.
Five holders of the Victoria Cross (VC) are interred at this site and the names of several (including five Indian VC holders) are inscribed on the Rangoon Memorial. Also inscribed, in English, Hindi, Urdu, Gurmukhi, and Burmese, on the Rangoon Memorial are the words they died for all free men.The Taukkyan Cremation Memorial, also at the site, commemorates more than 1000 soldiers who were cremated according to their faith.
